Part-time
Remote
United States
$45 - $90 USD hourly

• $45–$90 per hour

• 100% remote

• Part-time

• Fully flexible schedule

Evaluate drug discovery AI systems on your own schedule and help improve their scientific reasoning.

The AI systems shaping scientific research are trained and tested by real experts. The teams building them need computational chemistry and drug discovery scientists who can create difficult, realistic problems, judge whether an AI's answers are scientifically sound, write the answer a specialist would give, and explain subtle errors the model has made. Your judgment helps shape the next generation of AI models for scientific work. This is that work, done remotely.

What you'll do

• Develop realistic drug discovery scenarios that test computational chemistry judgment and have checkable answers

• Assess AI-generated scientific answers for scientific accuracy and the strength of their reasoning

• Set out clear scoring criteria and draft expert answers supported by published research

• Document the scientific errors you find and the reasoning behind each evaluation decision

Why this is worth your time

• Build practical AI evaluation skills while earning $45–$90 an hour reviewing drug discovery answers

• Work on AI systems that answer drug discovery questions, checking their reasoning and helping improve their scientific accuracy

• Build practical experience applying molecular modeling and structure prediction judgment to AI model evaluation and clear written feedback

• Fully remote and flexible, no fixed shifts, no commute

Who this is for

• A PhD in computational chemistry or a closely related field, including structural biology, biophysics, bioinformatics, medicinal chemistry, or biochemistry

• Hands-on research work in a laboratory setting, whether academic or industry-based

• Professional English for written and spoken work at C1 level or higher, practical Python programming ability, and experience with scientific writing, reviewing, benchmarking or model evaluation

• Helpful background includes experience with GROMACS, AMBER, NAMD, or OpenMM; free-energy methods, AlphaFold, Rosetta, molecular docking, or virtual screening; RDKit, QSAR or QSPR, ADMET prediction, or machine learning for molecular property prediction; and LC-MS/MS, MaxQuant, proteomics, or metabolomics; prior AI training work is not required.

Pay and details

• $45–$90 per hour, paid hourly as an independent contractor

• Part-time, flexible schedule; fully remote, United States
