Electronics AI systems can only flag a bad solder joint or a suspect part if experienced quality engineers show them what good and bad look like.

AI training is people-led work that teaches AI systems through examples. Experts review technical material, rate AI answers and explain what is right or wrong, so the systems give more accurate results. This project needs senior electronics quality and inspection engineers to apply that judgment.

What you'll do

• Check PCB CAM and Gerber data for manufacturability and conformance to industry standards

• Judge PCB assembly and wire harness builds against IPC-A-610 and IPC/WHMA-A-620 acceptance criteria

• Classify SMT and AOI defects, separate false calls from real ones, and explain likely causes and fixes

• Assess counterfeit part risk with AS6081 indicators, and read C-SAM and X-ray images of semiconductor packages, covering die inspection and MIL-STD-883 checks

Why this is worth your time

• Earn $60 an hour applying your electronics inspection expertise to AI evaluation tasks

• Work on AI systems that review manufacturing and inspection data, rating their answers and helping improve their accuracy

• Apply your quality and failure-analysis judgment to clear written findings that experts and non-experts can follow

• Fully remote and flexible, no fixed shifts, no commute

Who this is for

• At least eight years of hands-on experience in electronics quality, CAM engineering, or failure analysis

• Practical experience with PCB assembly, wire harnesses, or semiconductor packaging

• Strong knowledge of IPC-A-610 and IPC/WHMA-A-620, Gerber data, and PCB CAM software for quality and manufacturability assessment

• Additional expertise in SMT processes, AOI defect analysis, AS6081 counterfeit component screening, C-SAM, X-ray inspection, and MIL-STD-883 procedures

• Clear written and verbal communication for documenting and explaining technical findings

• Professional fluency in English

• IPC CIS or CIT certification is preferred

• No AI experience needed.

Pay and details

• $60 per hour, paid hourly as an independent contractor

• Part-time, flexible schedule; fully remote, United States
